Starfish

Recommended for students who are unfamiliar with the water, this group is designed as a first time introduction to the water. Learning basic safety habits in/out of the water and ability to comfortably enter the water.

 
    • 3 seconds - Blowing bubbles through mouth and nose 

    • 3 times - Bobbing up and down

    • 2 times - Opening eyes underwater and retrieving submerged rings

    • 3 seconds - Back float

    • 3 seconds - Front float

    • 2 body lengths - Front gliding

    • Recover from a back float

    • Survival floats

 
 

Jellyfish

Recommended for students who are comfortable in the water, this group is designed as an introduction to the basic fundamentals of the freestyle stroke. Learning the mechanics of freestyle and independence in the water.

 
    • Roll from front to back

    • Roll from back to front

    • Treading with both arms and hand alternating actions

    • 2 body lengths - Alternating leg action on front (Freestyle)

    • 2 body lengths - Alternating arm action on front (Freestyle)

 
 

Seahorse

Recommended for students who are comfortable with freestyle, this group is designed as an introduction to the basic fundamentals of backstroke. Learning the mechanics of backstroke and developing stamina in the water.

 
    • 2 body lengths - Alternating leg/arm action on back (Backstroke)

    • 5 body lengths - Streamline flutter kick on back unassisted

    • Completing 1 pool lap (Freestyle)

    • Surface Dives (Shallow/Medium depth)

 
 

Guppy

Recommended for students who are comfortable with both freestyle and backstroke, this group is designed as an introduction to the basic fundamentals of breaststroke and butterfly. Learning the mechanics of breaststroke and butterfly and continuing to build cardio endurance.

 
    • 2 body lengths - Simultaneous leg/arm action on front (Breaststroke)

    • 2 body lengths - Simultaneous leg/arm action on front (Butterfly)

    • 4 body lengths - Streamline breaststroke kick on back

    • 2 body lengths - Streamline dolphin kick on front

    • Completing 1 pool lap (Backstroke)

    • Complete underwater somersault

    • 15 Seconds - Treading with Alternating leg and arm action

 
 

Stingray

Recommended for students who are comfortable with all four competitive strokes, this group is designed as an introduction to competitive practices. Learning the mechanics of flip turns and dives, students will be prepared to enter the competitive swimming space.

 
    • 1 Complete pool lap of each stroke (Elementary Backstroke, Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle)

    • 2 consecutive laps of all strokes (except butterfly)

    • 30 Seconds - Treading with Alternating leg and arm action

    • Flip Turn

    • Open Turn

    • Kneeling Dive

    • Standing Dive

    • Competitive Dive
